Re: Jerry biopic in the works |
You put some excellent thought into those selections, Rob; outstanding. I would only suggest "Twiggy" as young Bob. And given his current fitness craze, perhaps Chuck Norris as aging Bob (just his beard? just his veins?).

Ha--I caught your ref the other day to the "vein thing" and I couldn't agree more...what price fitness, methinks?

Re: Jerry biopic in the works |
Right, but it wasn't an "age" reference that I was making, though I suppose it read that way because I did say Bob looked old to me (at first; he definitely livened up over the course of the evening!) But I assumed the bulging veins probably came from the discontinuation of the steroids - same thing could happen to a younger guy, I assume.
Or maybe the bulging veins are a new look, I dunno. Gray hair is supposedly in style too; first time I heard this I couldn't believe it but I have since seen it with my own eyes - women in their twenties who have dyed a streak of hair silver. Please, this is very misguided!

Re: Jerry biopic in the works |
Ring...I completely agree that women in their 20's should not be purposefully dying their hair gray...there is just something wrong with that. With that said, I am, as my husband so affectionately refers to me, "a gray haired old lady". Choosing to not dye my hair started out as an act of rebellion against my mom (yes, I'm still rebelious)...I also refuse to cut it short, even though I'm just over 40. It started out that way but it turns out that it looks pretty good on me...long, gray and black, thick and frizzy hair...it's kind of my signature.
I admire women who do dye their hair...I never have but it must be fun to change up how you look once in a while. I keep threatening to color my hair purple...if I were going to dye my hair, that would be the color of choice! Then my love would have to call me 'his purple haired old lady'...just doesn't have the same ring!
I say to each her own...except gray...that should be earned!

I have to admit though, it sometimes looks sharp on young women. Whole different effect on a 20 year old. But you just know, when they're older, they'll be amazed they ever thought this was a good idea.
I'm a bit gray myself and have never dyed it, always said I never would (feminist principles) but I admit I'm starting to toy with the idea ... it's partly rebellion and partly denial. Awhile back a new acquaintance told me she admired me for not dying away my gray hair and I just stared at her like "What gray hair?" 'cus I really just wasn't thinking I had a lot of gray hair. She meant well :)

I have to say the white streak (which I assume is natural) always looked good on Bonnie Raitt - and for a woman in her 60s who is grey-haired and fabulous look no farther than Emmylou Harris.

Or of course, like me, you could end up only being concerned with the grey hairs on your chin and your chest, given you only have a big shiny spot on your head that used to have something other than a hat on it...

Hah! Yes, it's most dismaying to see what you really look like from the back when you still have sufficient at the front to fuel the self-delusion. Ah well, as my grandfather said, you can't grow grass on a busy highway.
